MUST SEE: More Revelations Unravel In Nnamdi Kanu’s Case

– The case of  Nnamdi Kanu, the director of Radio Biafra, who was arrested in October 2015 has taken a new turn

  – Mr Amobi Nzelu, one of the counsel to Kanu has said that the issue of leader of Indiginous People of Biafra (IPOB) is beyond what it seems
Mr Ifeanyi Ejiofor, one of the counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, the director of Radio Biafra has said his client is open to a political solution.

Speaking to newsmen, he said the case is politically orchestrated as Kanu is a political prisoner. “Nnamdi Kanu is a political prisoner.

“Nnamdi Kanu is a political prisoner He’s total freedom is where we stand. He is open to a political solution. It is now obvious to the whole world that it is politically orchestrated.” he said.

However, also present at the briefing was Mr Amobi Nzelu, one of the counsel to Kanu , who said that the issue of leader of Indiginous People of Biafra (IPOB) is beyond what it seems.

While responding to a question asked by a journalist if Kanu will renounce Biafra, he said that the political solution will be better to resolve the issue of Biafra rather than a legal solution.

“It is not easy to grow up with an ideology. Ideology requires constructive negotiations, and pentecostal persuasion to gulp an ideology. This issue of IPOB is more than Nnamdi Kanu. It is bigger than him. Therefore, they cannot say yes or no.

“The political solution to this problem is what I and others are advocating to because political wounds are easily healed over and above legal wounds.

“No single individual can commit to treasonable felony if you go within the statured books and the elements you will need to prove in the court of law for you to establish a case of treasonable felony.

“If negotiations are going on, we will soon inform the world but no one has approached Nnamdi Kanu where he is being kept In Kuje prison, nobody has approached his legal team to have a dialogue,” he said.

The IPOB leader was arrested in October 2015 and was subsequently slammed with a six-count charge of treason by the federal government for managing the affairs of an unlawful society.

All efforts by Kanu’s lawyers to secure his release from prison has proved futile, fueling criticisms from pro-Biafra groups that the Buhari administration is frustrating the trial to keep Kanu behind bars indefinitely.

However, reports have emanated that Kanu might be released from prison following a deal between the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) and the federal government if the IPOB leader and others renounce their agitation for a “Biafra Republic.

But the news about the conditional release of Kanu has generated outrage from some Nigerians who say Nnamdi Kanu is not a coward and would never renounce Biafra.
