We Are Detaining Fani-kayode With A Valid Remand Warrant – EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday said it was confining Femi Fani-Kayode with a substantial remand warrant.

The Commission was responding to reports showing that the previous Minister of Aviation was all the while being confined in spite of meeting managerial safeguard conditions by the EFCC.

In a phone talk with SIGNAL on Friday, representative to the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren denied Fani-Kayode had met any safeguard conditions. "Which authoritative safeguard conditions did he meet? What I can let you know is that we are holding the man with a substantial remand warrant and this means work is as yet continuous on his case", Uwujaren told our columnist.

An announcement on Friday by Fani-Kayode's unique partner on media, Jude Ndukwe, uncovered that the EFCC has moved Fani-Kayode, to Lagos for further examination regardless of meeting his safeguard conditions.

Ndukwe said the counter unite commission did not give any explanation behind moving Fani-Kayode who has been in their authority since Monday, May 9, 2016.

The Commission had on Friday, May 6, 2016 sent an official welcome letter to Fani-Kayode to clarify his part in the presidential battle assets of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) amid the 2015 presidential decisions.

According Ndukwe, the EFCC were just attempting to rebuff the previous aeronautics Minister and keep him far from his family.

He said: "They simply need to push him, remove him from his family keeping in mind the end goal to break him.

"We don't know why he was moved, we simply need to trust it is one of the tricks of the EFCC to simply disturb him and keep him far from whatever number of his relatives and partners as could reasonably be expected.

"I don't imagine that there was any requirement for the exchange, if there was something they needed to get with respect to their examination, they would have also done in Abuja," he said.
